Life in prison is cheaper than the death penalty and saves lives
If you “value life,” why would you advocate murdering a prisoner?
How many western industrialized nations in the world today kill prisoners,
murder citizens, put children to death, and exterminate the mentally-ill?
This Only Happens in America…
Let’s change this shameful state of affairs.
Murdering people to prove that murdering people is wrong makes absolutely no sense.
If someone brutally raped someone or committed some other unspeakable crime… the last thing most of us would want is for them to get off easy.
Those who commit murder should be sentenced to life in prison without any possibility of parole. Then, each day they could suffer the fact that they doomed themselves to spend the rest of their days behind bars. I see no injustice in making certain these criminals suffer because of the nature of their crime
If the state executes these murderers, rapists, and other depraved individuals… they would “learn” nothing. I see no justice in sinking to their level of savagery. Then we, the public, become murderers by proxy, just to give these felons a free pass out of the prison they sorely deserve.
Capital Punishment (judicial homicide) does not deter crime. We have definitive proof that judicial homicide does not work. Revenge is not justice and this venal impulse undermines the moral authority of the law. Some claim implementation of the death penalty even increased the likelihood and frequency of violent crime.

August 8, 1945: MURDER AND ILL-TREATMENT OF PRISONERS
Article 6 (b) of the Charter
defines war crimes in these words:
“ War crimes: namely, violations of the laws or customs of war, Such violations shall include, but not be limited to, murder, ill-treatment or deportation to slave labor or for any other purpose of civilian population of or in occupied territory, murder or ill-treatment of prisoners of war or persons on the seas, killing of hostages, plunder of public or private property, wanton destruction of cities, towns, or villages, or devastation not justified by military necessity.”

OHCHR’s monitoring reveals that no one region claimed the monopoly over capital punishment.
In Iran, at least 1,500 individuals were reportedly executed in 2025, with at least 47 per cent relating to drug offences.
In Israel, a series of legislative proposals is seeking to expand the use of the death penalty by introducing mandatory capital punishment provisions that would apply exclusively to Palestinians.
In Saudi Arabia, the reported number of executions exceeded the previous record of 2024, mounting to at least 356 people, where 78 per cent of cases were for drug-related offences. In Afghanistan, public executions continued, in breach of international law.
In the Americas, the United States saw the highest number of executions in 16 years – some 47 inmates who had been on death row.
So far, 170 countries have abolished or introduced a moratorium on the death penalty either in law or in practice.
It’s an uphill battle… but the only way to stop killing, is to stop killing.
