Peace and Progress or Unending Wars

On most areas of economic policy, most progressives agree more than they disagree. But too many people with good hearts refuse to face facts about the last 8 years. This studious ignorance is not helpful. We cannot continue fighting 27 simultaneous, unprovoked and unwinnable wars. This has bankrupted the nation.

peace5The newest propaganda from the corporate elite is working too well. People who would not accept the illegal Vietnam war are now willing to condone or endorse more than 27 illegal and unprovoked wars of choice against smaller and less powerful nations who have not attacked us.

What have we become?  Too many of the people who stood up for peace have now chosen to remain silent. These unprovoked American wars for extraction, exploitation and extortion which expanded under Obama have continued to expand under “The Don” huckster and con-man D. J. Trump.

Where have the peacemakers gone?

If there was ever a time to speak up, this is the time. We have become the aggressor in 27 avoidable wars. This costs trillions of dollars and millions of lives. resistThese unnecessary wars of aggression create new enemies while making us demonstrably less secure.

We have not, will not and cannot “win” wars of aggression against dozens of smaller and less powerful nations who have not attacked us. Surrendering to unnecessary wars is a losing proposition.

In most areas of economic policy, most progressives agree more than they disagree.
But too many people with good hearts refuse to face facts about the last 9 plus years.
This studious ignorance is frustrating and fatal.

We cannot continue fighting 27 simultaneous, unprovoked and unwinnable wars. This insanity has already bankrupted the nation.

…We are still fighting unprovoked wars (Bombings, Drones, Other [CIA]) in Afghanistan, Algeria, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic, Chad, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Gaza, Gulf of Guinea, Iran, Iraq, Liberia, Libya, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Pakistan, Somalia, South Sudan, Syria, Tunesia, Uganda, Ukraine, West Bank, & Yemen.

obamabush

No sane person can call this surrender to expanding wars “good leadership.”

During his time in office Obama bombed more than TEN sovereign states:  Afghanistan, Algeria, Iraq, Libya, Pakistan, the Phillipines, Somalia, South Sudan, Syria, Yemen and Kandahar.

None of these nations attacked us.

This aggression against smaller and less powerful nations represents more violence than any of Obama’s predecessors since World War II. Most bombings violate International Treaties, U. S. Civil Law, the war powers act and constitutional mandates.

obama_yes_we_can_murder

Most Americans do not hate the former president, but we despise how congress and the president have spent trillions killing millions for billionaires instead of attending to the peoples’ business.

Barack Obama refused to govern. Instead, he allowed the CIA, the Pentagon, war-hawks and profiteers to bankrupt the nation with endless, expanding and increasing wars of aggression for the corporate bottom line.

We have become the primary source of terror, munitions and war on the planet. This matters.  No thinking person can condone what the Obama administration has done to the nation and the planet.

The U. S. A. is now Murder, Inc. And the Don of this organized crime syndicate,
D.J. Trump, is now on board for dozens of expanding wars and bankruptcy.

Publishing facts about the last 9 years can stir people up. We have watched dysfunctional leadership bankrupt the nation while avoidable deaths rise at home and abroad.

The Obama administration failed to secure the peace or create jobs at home.

This is the Obama legacy.

ISIS, BUSH, OBAMA & Better Options…

unions

I  would enjoy having a beer with Obama at the local pub. But his refusal to govern is dangerous and disappointing. He allowed the CIA and Pentagon to take us from 4 wars to 27 wars.

Sigh. I voted for him once. But he stabbed us in the back and expects us to thank him for pulling the knife out halfway.  No more “lesser-evil” for me.

Obama surrendered to the corporate elite. Liberal apologies for Obama’s bloody eight years cannot change facts on the ground. We have created millions new enemies, incurred trillions in new debt and are demonstrably less secure. This is a big part of how Trump the racist chump got elected.

war

American military misadventures have bankrupted the nation. If these more than two dozen simultaneous and expanding wars continue… we will be in full retreat from more than 900 military bases while dead oceans become seas rising to flood all shores.

Facts matter. And we are in a heap of trouble.  We need to vote our values instead of our fears in 2018 and 2020. A Green New Deal is exactly what we need. Shut down corporate wars to rebuild the nation.

We can “Shine with Stein”. and The Green New Deal:

gtrWe are too far along to keep pretending.  The Republicans and Democrats want unending wars for profit: spending trillions and killing millions for billionaires.   Republicans brag about it and Democrats lie about it. So our unprovoked, but expanding aggression continues.

Hillary Clinton is a right-wing conservative who defends the status quo of endless wars for the corporate elite. She’s a deeply conservative right-winger on both the domestic and the foreign policy fronts,

Hillary was a Republican in college, remains a conservative and defends the most egregious abuses of the CIA. “If you crave presidential lawlessness, war crimes, and international mayhem, you should adore Democratic presidential aspirant Hillary Clinton.  … In sum, Hillary Clinton is a clear and present danger to the Constitution, the rule of law, and international peace and security. Her eagerness for war, i.e., legalized murder, to create an image of adolescent toughness makes her a worse fit for the Presidency”

oweug[aHillary Clinton has supported 27 avoidable wars of choice, bombing 7 nations who did not attack us and presidential murders without due process of law.  “Hillary is the candidate of Wall Street. Even more dangerous, though, is that she is the candidate of the military-industrial complex. … Her so-called foreign policy “experience” has been to support every war demanded by the US deep security state run by the military and the CIA.”

Hillary condones militarized police murders of unarmed citizens, the execution of prisoners (both guilty and innocents) and sending illegal drones known to kill an average of 50 innocents per strike. “Hillary Clinton advocates aggression… she supports CIA destabilization tactics, unprovoked attacks, invasions, illegal wars, occupations, exploitation and overt imperialism.”

donald-trump-nbc-apprentice
Donald Trump is the enemy of the American people. He is an avowed racist.  “Trump in this campaign has gone after African Americans, immigrants, Latinos, Asians, women, Muslims and now the disabled.”   Trump endorses building walls, bombing people who did not attack us and committing murders around the globe without due process of  law. Trump loves war.

And Bernie the Bomber is just like Hillary the Hawk and Trump the Chump.

“In a statement to the Washington Post, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders declared his support for the Obama administration’s current policy of bombing Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

photofromtelesur-reuters…In directly aligning himself with the foreign policy of the Obama White House in the Middle East, Sanders underscored that he is not running as an “antiwar” candidate or offering any alternative to the policy of increasing military aggression by American imperialism around the world.

…Until recently, Sanders had not commented on any foreign policy question, confining his campaign entirely to domestic issues, particularly the growth of economic inequality.

…Sanders supports a continuation of the policy of unrestricted assassination of individuals targeted by the White House for extermination.”

“The minute we stand up, we are unstoppable. It’s time to forget the lesser evil and fight for the greater good.”…

It becomes clear, when everyday people demand peace, justice and freedom… they are not asking for all that much.

To begin, we must secure the peace. But our so-called leaders have not bothered for the past 36 years. Instead, the last five presidents have gone to war against smaller and less powerful nations for extraction, extortion, exploitation and worse. This has not been workin’ out real well and it’s time to shift gears.

We need to invest in rebuilding the nation, fixing schools, restoring infrastructure and exporting knowledge, technology and peace while we restore and repair the earth. We can find the courage to stand firm against the export of terror, munitions and wars costing trillions and killing millions.

We can put people and peace over conquest and chaos to preserve justice in global communities.

Freedom is like a flower nurtured in peacetime, which yields justice… sometimes blossoming into joy.

“A NATION’S GREATNESS DEPENDS ON ITS LEADER

To vastly improve your country and truly make it great again, start by choosing a better leader. Do not let the jill2media or the establishment make you pick from the people they choose, but instead choose from those they do not pick.
Pick a peacemaker. One who unites, not divides. A cultured leader who supports the arts and true freedom of speech, not censorship. Pick a leader who will not only bail out banks and airlines, but also families from losing their homes — or jobs due to their companies moving to other countries. Pick a leader who will fund schools, not limit spending on education and allow libraries to close. Pick a leader who chooses diplomacy over war. An honest broker in foreign relations. A leader with integrity, one who says what they mean, keeps their word and does no-JILL-STEIN-facebookot lie to their people.

…Most importantly, a great leader must serve the best interests of the people first, not those of multinational corporations. Human life should never be sacrificed for monetary profit. There are no exceptions. In addition, a leader should always be open to criticism, not silencing dissent. Any leader who does not tolerate criticism from the public is afraid of their dirty hands to be revealed under heavy light. And such a leader is dangerous, because they only feel secure in the darkness.

“The minute we stand up, we are unstoppable. It’s time to forget the lesser evil and fight for the greater good. The clock is ticking. It’s in our hands.” ~Dr. Jill Stein

Stein Calls for Transformational Solutions to Address Climate Crisis and Wars of Choice…

(PARIS) In Paris for the United Nations climate conference, Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein spoke at a forum on “Women Facing Climate Change”.  Stein was invited to speak by the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom, organizers of the forum.

Here are her remarks:

“Thank you for being here today at this conference on climate and militarism, and for leading the charge for a world that works for all of us.

This is an historic moment, as global crises of climate, security, the economy, and democracy converge in Paris. …

Our strategy should be not only to confront empire, but to lay siege to it. To deprive it of oxygen. To shame it. To mock it. With our art, our music, our literature, our stubbornness, our joy, our brilliance, our sheer relentlessness – and our ability to tell our own stories. Stories that are different from the ones we’re being brainwashed to believe. The corporate revolution will collapse if we refuse to buy what they are selling – their ideas, their version of history, their wars, their weapons, their notion of inevitability.

Remember this: We be many and they be few. They need us more than we need them. Another world is not only possible, she is on her way. On a quiet day, I can hear her breathing.

Obama failed at home and abroad

“Obama has governed like a right winger at home and abroad. And we are paying the price.”

obamaObama did not do “better” at home or abroad.

In military affairs, he spent trillions of dollars, killing millions and created a military boondoggle which will take half a century to repair. While infrastructure was falling apart at home, he created an additional hundreds of combat-ready bases worldwide to enforce unprovoked American aggression.

Obama governed like a right-winger on steroids at home and abroad. And we are paying the price.

Health care reform1. On Healthcare, because of Obama’s betrayals, we are now forced to pay ever-increasing amounts to insurance cartels who leave 31 million Americans without health care. Obama was more willing to compromise than he was willing represent the people who elected him.  America is the only Western-industrialized democracy where transnational insurance cartels call the shots and determine the costs of health care.

2.  On Immigration, Obama deported in excess of two million people, more than any president in history. He broke up families for no apparent reason. “Deportations have become so rampant that 61 percent of immigrant Hispanics said that deportation relief is more important than a pathway to citizenship.”

3. The banksters: ” He has not made bringing criminal bankers to justice a priority, and his administration was clearly a revolving door for Wall Street. The biggest and most dangerous banks—JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, Citigroup, and Wells Fargo—are even bigger than they were poem-truth-casino-inconvenient-truth2before the crisis. Scarcely a week passes without news of some new abuse committed by these institutions.

Obama failed to support obvious measures to rein in Wall Street, such as the financial transaction tax, and Dodd-Frank has been mostly defanged. Banks have enjoyed special treatment and record-breaking profits during Obama’s tenure, while ordinary Americans have struggled.”

4. “Obama’s education “reformers” are corporate privatizers. [President Obama and Secretary Duncan] are heading in the wrong direction. On their present course, they will end up demoralizing teachers, closing schools that are struggling to improve, dismantling the teaching profession, destabilizing communities, and harming public education.”

bigbrother15. “Obama has done nothing but ramp up all forms of surveillance, from metadata capture to wiretapping to recording phone log information of American citizens.”  He continues warrentless searches and is still sending Americans abroad for torture, rape and murder.

6. Drone warfare: “President Obama has launched more 390 drone strikes—eight times the number George W. Bush oversaw. Obama has escalated the drone war in Pakistan—where the majority of attacks take place—and in Somalia and Yemen. The drone strikes, meant to target Al Qaeda and the Taliban, have killed scores of civilians, disrupted tribal life, brought about huge suffering and trauma and inflamed anger at the U.S. Four Americans have been killed in drone attacks, and the whole program remains shrouded in secrecy.” Each drone kills an average of fifty innocents.

solvingtheclimatecrisis.com7. “The Trans-Pacific Partnership, a super-secret multinational corporate scheme sometimes described as ‘NAFTA on steroids,’ is one of Obama’s worst initiatives.  …The refrain is always the same: profits come first. The necessities of the people and protection of the planet come last.”

8. Obama failed to do much about the racist drug war and discriminatory sentencing. “Obama’s Justice Department fought a Court recommendation to release thousands of federal inmates still serving time under the racist crack standards of pre-2010. So the full court overruled its panel, and those thousands continue to rot in jail with a law that in essence, due to its discriminatory effect, was illegal. Obama’s words are empty until he actually takes the actions that are well within his power, to end the corrupt and racist war on drugs, and curb its devastating effects.”

www.doomsteaddiner.net9. Energy Policy and the Environment: The Obama administration has embraced hydraulic fracturing for oil and gas, and propped up a dying coal industry that’s killing us along with itself. “Also baffling and unacceptable is Obama’s green-lighting of the southern leg of the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline.” Instead of moving towards clean and sustainable energy, Obama has embraced the status quo.

10. Obama, once seen as the anti-war candidate, has Bush soundly beat in the number of secret wars with unconventional forces spread across the globe. “In the waning days of the Bush presidency, Special Operations forces were reportedly deployed in about 60 countries around the world . . no3. In 2013, elite U.S. forces were deployed in 134 countries around the globe . . . This 123% increase during the Obama years demonstrates how, in addition to conventional wars and a CIA drone campaign, public diplomacy and extensive electronic spying, the U.S. has engaged in still another significant and growing form of overseas power projection. Conducted largely in the shadows by obageoAmerica’s most elite troops, the vast majority of these missions take place far from prying eyes, media scrutiny, or any type of outside oversight, increasing the chances of unforeseen blowback and catastrophic consequences.”

Bernie Sanders has no answers. He is invested in endless war, regardless of the costs…

“Sanders not only defends military contracts that benefit his constituents in Vermont, he also joined the 100 to 0 vote in the Senate to give unalloyed moral and political support to the state of Israel during its most recent bombing campaign against Gaza.”

Bernie1Sanders’ dodge on Black Lives Matter

Democratic Party presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders has little to offer in the way of solutions to police brutality and racism, writes Ben Taylor.

“Bernie assures us that he’ll “make sure that kids are in schools, and not in jails” which sounds an awful lot like he’s placing the burden of responsibility for police brutality on the individual being victimized–a right-wing talking point. A meaningfully “left” candidate ought to have used this time to talk about the cops themselves, the structural nature of the problem, and how racialized social control operates. It’s as if the real problem for Bernie Sanders was that on April 12, Freddie Gray (aka “Black suspect” in Bernie’s lingo, since he doesn’t mention Freddie Gray’s name once) wasn’t at school or work- not that he was arrested for walking while Black. Somehow Bernie managed to completely avoid talking meaningfully about police brutality, mass incarceration, the war on drugs, militarized policing and a broken judicial system while giving us his “thoughts” on Baltimore. Bernie has no answers for #BlackLivesMatter.”

People still drive around with peace sign stickers next to their Barack Obama bumper stickers, despite the doubling-down on George W. Bush‘s foreign and domestic policies.Democrats have successfully been able to make Republican policies cool. Never forget that Bernie Sanders voted for the Afghanistan war and supported Israel’s slaughter of Gaza in 2014. He can’t support universal health care for Americans and the bombing of hospitals in Gaza at the same time. Having principles is not the same as being a purist – politics is not a game.

Sanders not only defends military contracts that benefit his constituents in Vermont, he also joined the 100 to 0 vote in the Senate to give unalloyed moral gaza1and political support to the state of Israel during its most recent bombing campaign against Gaza.

The truth about Bernie Sandersbernie

The American political left has elevated Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders to near godlike status.  …  The more often Sanders is accused of being a socialist by his political enemies on the Right, the more convinced the Left becomes that he surely walks on water.

Although Sanders may have once been a socialist back in the 80s when he was Mayor of Burlington, he is not a socialist today.  Rather he is a technofascist disguised as a liberal, who backs all of Obama’s nasty wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Pakistan, Somalia, and Yemen.  He “supports the troops” by favoring all military spending bills. He stands behind all military contractors who bring jobs to Vermont. That’s his job as a senator, but it does not make him a socialist. (He is running as a Democrat and endorsing the Bush-Obama agenda abroad.)

She has a plan for shutting down dozens of wars of choice, including the ongoing brutality in Gaza and the West Bank. It is way past time we got past the last five angry and militant men, and put a capable, professional woman (and distinguished physician) in the White House.

Dr. Jill Stein can provide the critical transition from exporting munitions, terror and war… to exporting knowledge, technology and medical and agricultural expertise… along with peace in our time.

Let’s allow her to help heal a nation in distress.

Stein was endorsed for President in 2012 by Noam Chomsky, a linguist, author and activist, and by Chris Hedges, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and war correspondent, among others. She is as real as it gets.”

Hillary Hawk Hell? No Thanks and Good Riddance.

“Hillary supports unending wars of choice and would continue the Bush-Obama-Clinton agenda. More war, munitions, bodies, and coffins… from across the globe, for the corporate bottom line and on our dime.”

hillaryhawkThere is no question that a vote for Hillary is not possible.
If there are evils running in 2016, hers is the greater evil.
I could not support her as a greater, lesser or middling evil.

Some people are so afraid they cannot find the courage to debunk the junk and face facts.  And increasing numbers don’t want to know truths which have become too terrible to bear.

When asked about moral scruples, Hillary the hawk’s response was:
“What difference, at this point, does it make?”

Hillary supports unending wars of choice and would continue the Bush-Obama-Clinton agenda. More war, munitions, bodies, and coffins… from across the globe, for the corporate bottom line and on our dime. If Democrats want to stand for and support American aggression against innocents, Wall St. bonus bailouts, a failed “drug war” and asset forfeitures by innocents only charged with a crime, then vote for Hillary the hawk.

resistHillary stands for three strikes and more jail time while we have more people in for-profit prisons than anytime in our history. And she is in favor of murdering prisoners who pose no threat, including both the innocent and the guilty.

Under Hillary, the TSA (Transportation Security Agency)
[ http://observer.com/…/the-tsa-has-fallen-so-far-it…/ ] will continue suspending the 4th Amendment and grabbing your crotch against your will, while the NSA (National Security Agency) will increase tracking the calls of hundreds of millions of innocent Americans and spying on a vast but unknown number of Americans’ international calls, text messages, and emails.

If these intrusions were not enough, the HSA., (Homeland Security Administration), will be encouraged to persist in child abuse: “One in four children included in this complaint reported some form of physical abuse, including sexual assault, beatings, and the use of stress positions by CBP officials,” the report said. “More than half of these children reported various forms of verbal abuse and denial of medical care, including two young mothers whose infant children came back sick while detained in freezing temperatures.”

We will send even more illegal drones to kill an average of fifty innocents per strike, and militarized police forces will continue to beat, torture and kill innocent and unarmed citizens at will.

~No thinking person can support these policies no matter how they are packaged, marketed or presented as any sort of “lesser evil.”  In a free county, the Bush-Obama-Hillary agenda of preemptive destabilitzation, attack, occupation and exploitation would stop.
And habeas corpus, civil-rights, constitutional integrity and something resembling liberty would be restored.

No amount of false-choice distraction techniques can paint Hillary as pro-peace and compassionate, when she is “as hawkish as any Neo-con on a bad day.”  9iiiisssiiiHer record of extra-legal and anti-constitutional tactics speaks for itself and violates the beliefs and values of liberals, conservatives, progressives, constitutionalists and everyday people from left to right.  We do not have to take it anymore. The time has come to vote values and demand results. The corporate con Bush-Obama-Clinton agenda is the biggest adversary we, the people, face.

We can have no more fear, compromise and surrender. Trump and the Republicans work for the Fortune 500 and brag about it. Hillary and the Democrats work for the Fortune 500 and lie about it. Blind faith voting has already cost trillions of dollars and millions of lives.
