Power to the People: A Green New Deal

“Establish a foreign policy based on diplomacy, international law, and human rights. End the wars and drone attacks, cut military spending by at least 50% and close the 800+ foreign military bases that are turning our republic into a bankrupt empire. “

Take it back with
A Green New Deal

Key points of the Power to the People Plan:

A Green New Deal:

Create millions of jobs by transitioning to 100% clean renewable energy by 2030, and investing in public transit, sustainable agriculture, and conservation.

stein123Jobs as a Right:

Create living-wage jobs for every American who needs work, replacing unemployment offices with employment offices. Advance workers rights to form unions, achieve workplace democracy, and keep a fair share of the wealth they create.

End Poverty:

Guarantee economic human rights, including access to food, water, housing, and utilities, with effective anti-poverty programs to ensure every American a life of dignity.

Health care reform
Health care reform?

Health Care as a Right:

Establish an improved “Medicare For All” single-payer public health insurance program to provide everyone with quality health care, at huge savings.

Education as a Right:

Abolish student debt to free a generation of Americans from debt servitude. Guarantee tuition-free, world-class public education from pre-school through university. End high stakes testing and public school privatization.

A Just Economy:

Set a $15/hour federal minimum wage. Break up “too-big-to-fail” banks and democratize the Federal Reserve. Reject gentrification as a model of economic development. Support development of worker and community cooperatives and small businesses. Make Wall Street, big corporations, and the rich pay their fair share of taxes. Create democratically run public banks and utilities. Replace corporate trade agreements with fair trade agreements.

solvingtheclimatecrisis.comProtect Mother Earth:

Lead on a global treaty to halt climate change. End destructive energy extraction: fracking, tar sands, offshore drilling, oil trains, mountaintop removal, and uranium mines. Protect our public lands, water supplies, biological diversity, parks, and pollinators. Label GMOs, and put a moratorium on GMOs and pesticides until they are proven safe. Protect the rights of future generations.

Freedom and Equality:

End police brutality, mass incarceration and institutional racism within our justice system. Expand women’s rights, protect LGBT people from discrimination, defend indigenous rights and lands, and create a welcoming path to citizenship for immigrants. Protect the free Internet, replace drug prohibition with harm reduction, and legalize marijuana/hemp.

cropped-peacedovemiddle.jpgJustice for All:

Restore our Constitutional rights, terminate unconstitutional surveillance and unwarranted spying, end persecution of government and media whistleblowers, close Guantanamo, abolish secret kill lists, and repeal indefinite detention without charge or trial.

Peace and Human Rights:

Establish a foreign policy based on diplomacy, international law, and human rights. End the wars and drone attacks, cut military spending by at least 50% and close the 800+ foreign military bases that are turning our republic into a bankrupt empire. Stop U.S. support and arms sales to human rights abusers, and lead on global nuclear disarmament.

peace-justiceEmpower the People:

Abolish corporate personhood. Protect voters’ rights by establishing a constitutional right to vote.  Enact electoral reforms that break the big money stranglehold and create truly representative democracy: public campaign financing, ranked-choice voting, proportional representation, and open debates.

Nothin’ but the Truth…

All of us are more than fed up with mediocrity, hypocrisy, lesser-evil, trickle-down, less-than-perfect settling for spending trillions and killing millions for munitions firms and billionaires who pay no taxes and steal what we pay.

martinlutherkingjr297520The truth is powerful.

All  current American conflicts (including the West Bank and Gaza) … involve CIA destabilization, attacks, bombings, invasions and/or occupations for exploitation, extraction and extortion.

The United States sells munitions to both sides of conflicts we create and sustain.
It’s not pretty.

For 36 years we have attacked smaller and less powerful nations who have not attacked us. We have murdered millions and delivered death, destruction and disaster. But mainstream American media tells us wars-for-profit are here to stay: more assassinations of Americans 886853520046797971without due process of law and murders of innocents with illegal drones abroad.

All of us are more than fed up with mediocrity, hypocrisy, lesser-evil, trickle-down, less-than-perfect settling for spending trillions and killing millions for munitions firms and billionaires who pay no taxes and steal what we pay.

This is more than “less than perfect.” This shakedown is organized crime, committed in our names and on our dime because we let it happen.  And these crimes are legislated, funded and implemented by both sides of a corporate aisle.

Given a choice to vote for Democrats or Republicans for ongoing wars... for another eight years… makes no sense. It’s like voting against ourselves. War is surrender.

Peace remains our only victory. War is fatal surrender. We can shine with good-hearted people like Dr. Jill  Stein.  And there are more of us than there are of them.

you put us all together, we have the potential for a Tahrir Square type event, and [to] turn the White House into a Green House in November.”

paolocurtazdotitBernie Sanders is just the same as nearly every other US politician. He is an imperialist. He thinks it’s America’s job to play Team America: World Police. Using our tax dollars, he has joined with warmongers in both political parties and condoned or supported – directly or indirectly – some of the most gruesome US foreign policy decisions in decades.”

A revolution (from the Latin revolutio, “a turn around”) is a fundamental change in political power or organizational structures that takes place in a relatively short period of time when the population rises up in revolt against the current authorities.

Revolution and Liberation… ~OO~

At home, American police bureaus, militarized and armed with machine-guns, have been provided a license to kill at will and our president claims a “right” to kill anyone, anywhere, any time, for any reason or without providing any reason at all.

This amoral and extralegal extortion has been extended abroad in more than 27 corporate wars of choice. And what is most terrifying: the American people have surrendered to this betrayal and treason. With innocents executed at home and abroad, we are under attack and must stand up and fight back: no fear, no compromise and no surrender.

The revolution has begun.

1-REVOLUTION

“Our strategy should be not only to confront empire, but to lay siege to it. To deprive it of oxygen. To shame it. To mock it. With our art, our music, our literature, our stubbornness, our joy, our brilliance, our sheer relentlessness – arainy4nd our ability to tell
our own stories. Stories that are different from the ones we’re being brainwashed to believe. The corporate revolution will collapse if we refuse to buy what they are selling – their ideas, their version of history, their wars, their weapons, their notion of inevitability.
Remember this: We be many and they be few. They need us more than we need them. Another world is not only possible, she is on her way. On a quiet day, I can hear her breathing.”

“Currently, American foreign policy under Obama has become a global assassination program, using bombs, drones and CIA espionage to attack smaller and less powerful nations for profit.”

And Trump is on board…

mynzahosiris.wordpress.com
Bernie, Hillary and Obama
ARE the current authorities.
They gave us 27 wars of choice, 800 plus offensive military bases and pursuit of empire… spending trillions and killing billions for increasing expansions of aggression, attacks, invasions, occupation and exploitation of smaller and less powerful nations who have not attacked us.

“Wars of choice are surrender. Peace is victory.”

https://thepeaceresource.wordpress.com/2014/09/15/war-and-peace/

bc1Unprovoked American aggression not been working out real well at home or abroad. Police officers murder unarmed citizens and get two weeks paid vacation, while we create conflicts around the globe, making new enemies and wasting precious resources. This makes us weaker and less secure. Eight more years of dozens of simultaneous and expanding wars of aggression cannot be sustained. These have already bankrupted America.

And dozens of wars of American aggression should not be endorsed or condoned.

But so far… war trumps peace, aggression spreads and myths abound.
Too many live in personal fictions and find facts too great a burden to bear.

“Reality denied comes back to haunt.”

King Obama is not known for courage:  fear, compromise and surrender are his legacy.

“A great deal of intelligence can be invested in ignorance when the need for illusion is deep.”
― Saul Bellow, To Jerusalem and Back

No other president except Obama (since World War Two) has misused our military to bomb 7 nations and wage war on 27 nations. Neither the military nor the people in these countries we attack have attacked us. We have become the aggressor: exporting terror, munitions and wars.

https://thepeaceresource.wordpress.com/2016/03/30/truth-and-lies-peace-and-war-fact-myth-magic-science-and-fiction/

james_baldwin_550pxWe spend trillions, killing millions, for the benefit of billionaires who pay no taxes and steal the taxes we pay. The Millionaires Glee Club in congress , the White House and The U. S. Supreme court ignore everyday people and misuse our military resources, catering to the concerns of corporate criminals and the economic elite while everyday people suffer, jobs are shipped overseas, infrastructure deteriorates and public services have begun falling apart.

Why do we allow it?

“People who believe that they are strong-willed and the masters of their destiny can only continue to believe this by becoming specialists in self-deception.”
― James Baldwin, Giovanni’s Room

On Obama’s watch, with Hillary and Bernie “helping,” we have become the terror.

But we can export peace instead of war.

This is the choice. Do not believe the lies of the corporate press and the military-industrial complex. These profiteers are not on your side.  It is wake-up time. We should know better. We are not a fascist state yet. Rather than starting yet another war, we have the ability to do the right thing… shut down the wars and rebuild the nation.

nowarsyria2

Tell your legislators we do not want to attack other nations when it is within our power to secure a victory in peace instead of a cowardly surrender to wars for corporate profit.

Do not get fooled again.
