About 17,000 jazz fans are expected to attend about 30 shows during the 12th annual Portland Jazz Festival, which kicked off Feb. 17, and runs through Sunday, March 1.
Jill Stein was honored to learn yesterday (Wed. Feb. 26,2016) that Chris Hedges,
Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and fearless truth-teller, published an article on Truthdig entitled: “Why I Support Dr. Jill Stein for President”.
Los Angeles: I sat down for an interview with Robert Scheer of Truthdig, who has interviewed every president for the past 40 years. Towards the end he told me – on the record – “I’ve spent quite a bit of time interviewing people who became president or who were president… And so, just in this short interview – there’s no question in my mind that you’re every bit the equal or superior to all of the presidential candidates that I’ve talked to.” Needless to say, I was honored to get a thumbs-up from Robert Scheer, who hasn’t previously been a fan of independent politics. The U.S. policy was a massive, horrific failure.
We have expanded the American empire and Bernie intends for this expansion to continue.
But this nearly “imperial” expansion of empire contradicts Sanders’ most passionate populist rhetoric.
“Shut-up”, You don’t have the microphone!” is not a good enough response to questions about war, peace, life, death, murder, chaos, decline and surrender.”
“Critiquing Bernie Sanders from the left can be a lonely project. There is a “hope”-powered hysteria surrounding his campaign, and bursting the “hope” bubble can produce a fierce backlash. The Sanders “hope” explosion is so fierce because capitalism has become a hopeless place.”
“Had I done my research, I would have discovered Sanders’ frankly hawkish positions on foreign policy. “
“We can flood our years with sunshine — with the divine climate of kindness, and we can drain to the last drop the golden cup of joy.”
“We need to slow down, acknowledge Bernie’s war-and- profiteering record and understand he is proposing more bodies and lives for the corporate elite bottom line.”
