In America, militarized police have been given permission to murder at will, without accountability. And leaders at the helm export terror, munitions and unprovoked wars of aggression abroad. We must focus on root causes.
Stand up for Standing Rock Sioux
This assault on native American tribes is illegal, immoral and an abomination. This is not who we are. Resist!
If we continue expanding unprovoked wars of aggression, before 2030 we will be in full retreat while rising seas flood nuclear reactors and our coastal cities.
On most areas of economic policy, most progressives agree more than they disagree. But too many people with good hearts refuse to face facts about the last 8 years. This studious ignorance is not helpful. We cannot continue fighting 27 simultaneous, unprovoked and unwinnable wars. This has bankrupted the nation.
We can rebuild sustainable infrastructure and restore human resources by choosing peace over war.
Jamar Clark, 11/15/15 Minneapolis, MN:
Two Minneapolis police officers shot Clark, claiming he “interfered” with emergency responders helping an assault victim. Activists and witnesses maintain that Clark was unarmed and handcuffed when he was shot.
No officers have been charged with a crime for killing Jamar.
“The minute we stand up, we are unstoppable. It’s time to forget the lesser evil and fight for the greater good.”…
“…we are now fighting 27 simultaneous wars… and have been building an empire based on more than 800 offensive military outposts. We sell arms to both sides of artificial conflicts sponsored by the CIA and/or the Pentagon. This increasing and expanding empire, selling unending wars for profit, can only bankrupt the nation.”
“It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize why Hillary Clinton’s hawkish policies are not good for women’s rights. She has been one of the most warmongering US politicians of recent times and is proud about her record.”
“Life is a freak. That’s its hope and glory.”
“Just being slightly less worse than the worst possible scenario is not acceptable. We have to be willing to stand up and throw off those chains of powerlessness. In the words of Alice Walker, ‘the biggest way people give up power is by not knowing they have it.’
We have it.”
– the other 80% of the population — are marginalized, diverted from political awareness and participation in self-governing, and reduced to apathy so they don’t vote or take charge
~That “Drones strikes—which are being conducted in Pakistan, Yemen, and Somlia—are illegal is cut and dry.
“A vote for Clinton is a vote for austerity, for imperialism, and for the augmented perpetual war regime established under her tenure as Secretary of State.”
“In 2016, we need to make sure there is a ballot line for any independent left or socialist candidate to contest the corporate party lackeys running for office.”
“Ignorance and prejudice are the handmaidens of propaganda. Our mission, therefore, is to confront ignorance with knowledge, bigotry with tolerance, and isolation with the outstretched hand of generosity. Racism can, will, and must be defeated.” ― Kofi Annan
One of the GBI investigators who supervised the criminal investigation into the shooting told the AJC that the shooting was unjust.
“This is the worst one I’ve ever investigated,” said Mike McDaniel, a retired GBI agent. “I don’t think it’s a good shoot. I don’t think it’s justified.”
Even the lead investigator says that this was unjustified, yet these two cops are still out on the street, “protecting and serving.” So turn the brutal, rusty, and bloody cogs of the American justice system.
