The question is not how we eliminate guns, steering wheels, steak knives, drugs, ropes and explosives. This misdirection misses the point: we can
reduce suicides and homicides by addressing causes:“The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is available 24/7 at 1-800-273-TALK (8255), and their website also has an online chat feature. You can contact them anytime if you’re worried that you or someone you know may be in crisis.”

In America, militarized police have permission to murder at will and without accountability. Leaders at the helm export terror, munitions and unprovoked wars.
No other nation on earth {except Israel and Saudi Arabia) is so proactively engaged in wanton aggression. American murders at home and exports of corporate wars are extralegal contradictions. This avoidable but premeditated and unprovoked violence trickles-down into our communities and streets until we are surrounded by hate.
We must focus on root causes.
Police officers killed
1,129 people in 2017.
And we refuse
to hold them
accountable.

More people died from police violence in 2017 than the total number of U.S. soldiers killed in action around the globe (21). More people died at the hands of police in 2017 than the number of black people who were lynched in the worst year of Jim Crow (161 in 1892). Cops killed more Americans in 2017 than terrorists did (four). They killed more citizens than airplanes (13 deaths worldwide), mass shooters (428 deaths) and Chicago’s “top gang thugs” (675 Chicago homicides).
Yet only 12 officers were charged with a crime related to a shooting death.

Here are ten ways to reduce killings and suicides in America:
1. Hold police accountable.
2. Shut down unprovoked wars of aggression.
3. Restore civil rights and the rule of law
4. Establish universal, nonprofit health care for everyone.
5. Repair dysfunctional schools.
6. Provide 4 years free college at state schools.
7. Invest in peace, people and planet Earth.

The rest is commentary.
Some people are so afraid they cannot find the courage to debunk the junk and face facts. And increasing numbers don’t want to know truths which may be too terrible to bear.
Reality is not all it’s cracked up to be and some say life’s an illusion. Over time we
find small truths, big lies, radical science and brilliant ideas.
But so far war trumps peace, aggression spreads and myths abound.
Too many live in personal fictions and find facts too great a burden to bear.
