Empire, deconstruction and revolution

“…we are now fighting 27 simultaneous wars… and have been building an empire based on more than 800 offensive military outposts. We sell arms to both sides of artificial conflicts sponsored by the CIA and/or the Pentagon. This increasing and expanding empire, selling unending wars for profit, can only bankrupt the nation.”

dran_houseofcardspicturesonwallsdotcomWhen Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton were presidential contenders, they both endorsed, encouraged and supported
unnecessary wars and avoidable profiteering for the corporate elite.

The offered nothing better than Trump’s hate, vitriol and rancor.

Eight more years of war is what they promised: dozens of unnecessary conflicts, thousands of avoidable drones and more troubling presidential assassinations which make murder without trial the new American rule without law.

Now Donald Trump has been installed in office to continue building this house of cards (unending wars for corporate profit) which we know will fall.

During a  70 year piece of time, we fought wars with 30 nations, one or two at a time, for no particularly compelling reasons.  NONE of these countries attacked America.

But in the last nine years, with aggressive military conquests against smaller and less powerful nations, we are now fighting at least 27 simultaneous and expanding wars… and have been building an empire based on more than 900 offensive military outposts in 150 nations. We sell arms to both sides of artificial conflicts sponsored by the CIA and/or the Pentagon.  This expanding empire, selling unending wars for profit, has already bankrupted the nation.

Fiscal collapse, coffins and chaos will not take eight years. Flogging the dead horse of wars for profit won’t work. And Trump remains a chump.

None of the above: Hillary, Donald, Bernie or a dozen other corporate cons
are not worth my vote.  I could not vote for surrender to eight more years of war.

Why would anyone?

We only had one choice last November. Her name was Dr. Jill Stein.

https://thepeaceresource.wordpress.com/2015/05/02/jill-stein-walks-the-talk/

She had the only viable plan: The Green New Deal.

https://thepeaceresource.wordpress.com/2015/07/14/power-to-the-people/

aa2We could have shut down 27 unnecessary wars, invested in peace, people and profit…
and exported knowledge, technology and peace instead of terror, munitions and war.

We had an opportunity to stop wasting resources on avoidable wars by investing funds in securing the peace, restoring infrastructure and delivering critical human services.

We could have chosen to put people in front of military profits. This would have allowed rebuilding America and creating a peaceful, progressive and prosperous future for everyday people.

https://thepeaceresource.wordpress.com/2016/02/23/jill-stein-is-on-a-cross-country-tour/

If had chosen the Green New Deal: erasing student debt, delivering non-profit health care, localizing banks, regulating large corporations and bailing out Main Street instead of propping up Wall Street… this would have stopped foreclosures and bankruptcies by putting everyday people in charge with 100 percent employment opportunities the first year and 100 percent renewable energy by 2030. All ships could have risen.

Many progressive unions across America and around the globe understand that Jill Stein and the Green New Deal provided an outline for peace and progress:  We must shut down corporate wars to create a sustainable future.

https://thepeaceresource.wordpress.com/2016/02/17/dr-jill-stein-talks-with-chris-hedges/

We can no longer allow the corporate elite to drive jobs overseas by starting avoidable wars for the corporate bottom line.

https://thepeaceresource.wordpress.com/2016/01/22/jill-stein-labor-unions-can-win/

We deserve better. Unending wars against smaller and less powerful nations will continue to suck this nation dry or we can organize, educate, wake up and shake up the American people.jxgf

https://thepeaceresource.wordpress.com/2015/11/04/dr-jill-stein-as-president-will-shut-down-corporate-wars-for-profit-it-is-about-time/

The future is in our hands.

Trans-Pacific Partnership is bogus

“Since the agreement will encourage off-shoring of investments and jobs and will do nothing to stop currency manipulation, the likelihood of a favorable result from the TPP corporate trade agreement is slim. The TPP should be rejected.” ~David Delk

“Union carpenters gather for a rally in downtown Portland on the evening of March 9,-24b9f669abdc5717 2015, to protest a proposed Trans-Pacific Partnership trade pact. Photo by Jeff Mapes/Staff

Trans-Pacific Partnership:

The editorial board thinks “it’s tricky to estimate how many jobs are directly tied to trade, much less how many would be created if the (Trans-Pacific Partnership) is signed.” Tricky, indeed, when you only account for part of the jobs equation. Missing from this equation is how many jobs will be destroyed as a result of this agreement.

tpp1%The U.S.-South Korea trade agreement was the last to go into effect. President Obama said that because of increased export opportunities, 70,000 new jobs would be created and that our trade balance with South Korea would improve. Yet since then, our trade deficit with South Korea has grown, meaning that those new jobs never materialized. In fact, during the agreement’s first three years, the trade deficit increased by $11.8 billion, meaning the loss of 75,000 good-paying American jobs.

So it is important to ask the right questions. Since the agreement will encourage off-davidshoring of investments and jobs and will do nothing to stop currency manipulation, the likelihood of a favorable result from the TPP corporate trade agreement is slim. The TPP should be rejected.

David Delk   Northeast Portland

A note from Jill Stein:

The Obama administration – and bipartisan supporters – are pushing a secret corporate trade deal, the Trans Pacific Partnership, (TPP), that would give corporations more power than nations.

The TPP would empower a secret global court consisting of three judges appointed by the World Bank and allow foreign corporations to overrule U.S. laws. This is direct assault on our Constitution and democracy.

Oppose the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP)

Bernie says he is pro-war. I believe him.

“…(Sanders is) really just coming out of the closet now for the presidential race, in a Clinton-welcomed effort to help give the Democrats a much-needed fake-populist makeover for the 2016 elections. The great Socialist Party presidential candidate Eugene Debs (whose poster hangs in Sanders’ Senate office) would not be impressed.”

Syria No-Fly

“I support President Obama’s effort to combat the Islamic State in Syria,” he said, “while at the same time supporting those in Syria trying to verthrow the brutal Bashar Assad dictatorship.”

The United States has been bombing targets in Syria, including the Islamic State and al-Qaida affiliate Jabhat al-Nusra, since September 2014. Those strikes have reportedly killed at least 240 civilians.

“I’m among millions of supporters who are enthusiastic about the clarity of his positions
in taking on Wall Street, corporate power and economic inequality,” Norman Solomon, a Democratic activist and executive director of the Institute for Public Accuracy, said in a recent article for Al Jazeera America.

“But we also need Sanders to be clear about what he would do as commander-in-

chief of the world’s leading military power.”
What he has said has largely disappointed peace activists like Solomon.  resist

In August, he said he would not end U.S. drone strikes in countries such as Pakistan and Yemen, arguing such strikes must be deployed “selectively and effectively.”

Viva Viggo Mortensen: Bernie Sanders just as hawkish as Hillary Clinton

politico.com.1.“Sanders, who voted against the war in Iraq, nevertheless has a history of supporting war during his time in the senate. He supported President Bill Clinton’s 1999 war in Kosovo, he voted multiple times to fund the Iraq War, he supports the continued occupation of Afghanistan, and he supports Israel’s military occupation of Palestine. He also supports President Obama’s ongoing drone campaign.

…Sanders has also failed to make any public statements regarding the United States’ bombing of a Doctors Without Borders hospital in Afghanistan, which killed 20 civilians and injured another 37. Additionally, Bernie Sanders has come under fire from jill2progressives for his support of Saudi Arabia, which is leading a war crime-riddled campaign in Yemen, supports a brand of radical extremism called Wahhabism, and is guilty of numerous human rights abuses domestically.”

http://www.sott.net/article/306068-Viva-Viggo-Mortensen-Bernie-Sanders-just-as-hawkish-as-Hillary-Clinton

So let’s hear Sanders speak for himself. He sounds like a Southerner denying racism:

“If you ask me about my views on the environment, on women’s rights, on gay rights, I am liberal. I don’t have a problem with that at all. Some of my best friends are liberal.”

81-KPqrfqzL._SL1500_.jpg
And he admits he is a pawn of Wall Street.

“You know, I think many people have the mistaken impression that Congress regulates Wall Street. In truth that’s not the case. The real truth is that Wall Street regulates the Congress.”

Bernie Sanders

And Bernie will guarantee eight more years of war:

“Sanders has pledged that he will support the corporatist military hawk Hillary Clinton in the 2016 general presidential election. Sanders stirs up legitimate progressive energy and popular anger and then “funnels it back into a dead political system,” Hedges observes. Sanders fails to confront the American Empire and military state, and, Hedges adds, has unforgivably “abandoned the Palestinians and given carte blanche to Israel.”

…During the 1990s, the not-so “independent” Congressman Sanders voted for and/or otherwise supported:

* Economic sanctions that killed more than a million Iraqi civilians

* Every U.S. bombing of Iraq from 1992 on

* The sending of U.S. military units to Kuwait and Saudi Arabia to threaten Iraq because “we cannot tolerate aggression”

* The objectively racist and mass-incarcerationist Federal Crime bill.

* Every US intervention since elected to Congress–Iraq, Somalia, Haiti, Bosnia, Liberia, Zaire (Congo), Albania, Sudan, Afghanistan and Yugoslavia.

aoeihtaoMany of Sanders’ liberal fans might be surprised to learn that he voted for a National Rifle Association (NRA)-supported bill to restrict lawsuits against gun manufacturers and against the Brady Bill.

…(Sanders is) really just coming out of the closet now for the presidential race, in a Clinton-welcomed effort to help give the Democrats a much-needed fake-populist makeover for the 2016 elections. The great Socialist Party presidential candidate Eugene Debs (whose poster hangs in Sanders’ Senate office) would not be impressed.”

Sanders has a solid, pro-war track record for the past 15 years. He surrendered.
He accepts spending trillions on unnecessary wars as a given.

BernieSanders-infrastructure

We are spending six trillion on war because that is Bernie Sanders “vision.”
He just does not “get it.”  It will take 18 trillion to fix our infrastruture, implement universal single payer, rebuild America and create jobs.  We cannot have peace and progress if Burnie clings to wars of choice and profiteering, but Bernie won’t budge.

“Sanders voted in 2001 for the Authorization for the Use of Military Force, the congressional resolution that was the basis of George Bush’s invasion and occupation of Afghanistan and the launching of the “war on terror,” and which is still cited by Barack Obama as the legal justification for drone-missile assassinations in Pakistan, Yemen and other countries. He regularly voted for military appropriations bills, required to fund the ongoing war in Iraq Sanders claimed to oppose.

quotesgram.comIn the sphere of world trade, Sanders masks a strident chauvinism with “human rights” rhetoric, particularly with respect to China. In 1992 he co-sponsored a bill, first proposed by Nancy Pelosi, and later vetoed by George H.W. Bush, attempting to restrict the trade status of China due to its human rights record. As always, the supreme “human right” was the right of American corporations to scour the globe in source of profit; one of the benchmarks that China would have been required to meet was to provide “United States exporters fair access to Chinese markets, including lowering tariffs, removing nontariff barriers, and increasing the purchase of United States goods and services.”

Sanders’ stance on immigration is entirely in line with right-wing efforts to scapegoat millions of impoverished and exploited Hispanic workers for the falling living standards of American working class. He has repeatedly introduced bills in Congress calling for the suspension of the federal visa program under the guise of protecting American jobs. For his efforts, he has earned the admiration of noted anti-immigrant racist and talk show host Lou Dobbs, who called him “one of the few straight talkers in Congress.”

132946_600On the massive NSA spying first revealed by Edward Snowden, Sanders has staked out a position virtually indistinguishable from the public position of Barack Obama, “welcoming” the opportunity to “discuss” government spying while demanding that Snowden be punished for revealing it. “The information disclosed by Edward Snowden has been extremely important,” Sanders said in early 2014. “On the other hand, there is no debate that Mr. Snowden violated an oath and committed a crime,” for which he called only for a “lenient” sentence. Last July, Sanders co-sponsored the Obama-supported USA FREEDOM Act in the Senate, which would regularize NSA spying under the guise of regulating it.

oweug[a…(Bernie’s) role in the campaign will be use his reputation as a politician of the “left” to disguise the ever more right-wing orientation of the Democratic Party: its abandonment of even a nominal commitment to social reform, its embrace of war, assassination, mass surveillance and an increasingly dictatorial role for the American imperialist state, both internationally and at home.

Help get Dr. Stein on more ballots!

“For my campaign to succeed, it’s critically important that we get on the ballot across the country so we can give America a real choice in November.”

Jill 2016
Dear Friend —

DSC_0635-copy.14236.widea.0To give people like you a real choice in November, we first need to gather thousands of signatures to gain ballot access. This costs the campaign thousands of dollars, and can be a significant challenge especially in states with early deadlines.

I think this is the year we can rise to the challenge – but only if everyone chips in to help. Like our campaign as a whole, our ballot access drive is funded primarily by small donations from emails like this.

jill-stein-750Can you pitch in $3 today to help me declare another victory in our ballot access drive?

For my campaign to succeed, it’s critically important that we get on the ballot across the country so we can give America a real choice in November.

I know we can get this done today, but to make it happen, I need your help.

p_Jill_Stein_headshot.pngDon’t forget: now that we’ve qualified for matching funds, anything you give will be doubled. Thank you for all that you do!

Dear Friend —

Our drive to get on state ballots across the country is heating up, and I need your help!

We’re planning to start gathering signatures to put my campaign on the ballot in Utah, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island very soon.

But to cover the costs of organizing and petitioning in these states, we need to raise $8,500. Can you pitch in today to help make it happen?

o-JILL-STEIN-facebook

Our drive to get on state ballots across the country is the critical first step to reaching the millions of Americans who are looking for a people-powered alternative to the establishment parties funded by predatory banks, fossil fuel giants and war profiteers.

Support from people like you has already helped us make history as the first Green campaign to qualify for federal matching funds at the beginning of a presidential election year.

Can I count on you to pitch in today so we can get on the ballot in 3 more states and reach over 3 million more voters with our campaign for an America – and a world – that works for all of us?

It’s in our hands!

PS. Now that we have qualified for federal matching funds, anything you give up to the first $250 will be doubled by matching funds. Please consider maximizing your impact with a $250 contribution today. Thank you for all that you do!

The Cons on both sides of the corporate aisle are not on your side.

“A vote for Clinton is a vote for austerity, for imperialism, and for the augmented perpetual war regime established under her tenure as Secretary of State.”

war-is-moneyRepublicans work for the corporate elite and brag about it.  Democrats work for the corporate elite and lie about it.
And the American people are too often led like sheep into the corporate fold… or respond like lemmings… dashing over the brink of lesser evilism into endless wars for the corporate bottom line. We can do better.

Here is a great piece on Hillary (Hawk)Clinton.  Just like Obama was able to do more damage than George Bush, Hillary has the capacity to do more damage than Jeb Bush.

http://www.counterpunch.org/2015/08/21/anti-hillary-across-the-spectrum/

counterpunchimageofhclinton(image at left is from Counterpunch)

The piece varies, but this salient point is the rub:

“A vote for Clinton is a vote for austerity, for imperialism, and for the augmented perpetual war regime established under her tenure as Secretary of State.”

~And a vote for Bush or whatever Republican is the same thing. But we have a choice in 2016. We can vote for endless war or we can come to our senses and find the courage to ignore the corporate cons who run mainstream media. We can finally vote our values instead of our fears.

The only candidate who has the guts and determination to challenge the corporate elite is Doctor Jill Stein. She may not have the charisma of deceivers like Bernie Sanders, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama… nor does she have the fiscal power of the Bush dynasty, but she is speaking truth to power. And there are more of us than there are of them.

Black Lives Matter: fix the system of racism

Q: Your campaign so far has been talking a lot about what’s been happening in Ferguson. You’re talking about the Black Lives Matter movement , and the issue of police violence seems to be more at the top of your agenda. Why?

STEIN: This has also been the direction of the Green Party. The Green Party has expanded over the last 8 years. Cynthia McKinney and that race, that was a wakeup call, for a lot of Greens to understand the broader agenda. We sort of historically associated with the green movement, and there’s been sort of a progressive understanding that we will never fix the environment unless hand-in-hand we are fixing the economy and the system of racism and the civil liberties and police state and all those issues that–they cannot be separated. We have become much closer as a community. I began working with the Poor People’s Economic Human Rights Campaign and that whole network as of four years ago. And we have worked together over the past four years.

Ronnie Reagan, George Herbert Walker Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Jon Ellis (JEB) Bush and Bernie Sanders are ALL on the same page when it comes to Gaza, wars of choice and the military industrial machine.

Power to the People: A Green New Deal

“The minute we stand up, we are unstoppable. It’s time to forget the lesser evil and fight for the greater good. The clock is ticking. It’s in our hands.” ~Dr. Jill Stein

Key points of the Power to the People Plan:

A Green New Deal:

Create millions of jobs by transitioning to 100% clean renewable energy by 2030, and investing in public transit, sustainable agriculture, and conservation.

Jobs as a Right:

Create living-wage jobs for every American who needs work, replacing unemployment offices with employment offices. Advance workers rights to form unions, achieve workplace democracy, and keep a fair share of the wealth they create.

End Poverty:

Guarantee economic human rights, including access to food, water, housing, and utilities, with effective anti-poverty programs to ensure every American a life of dignity.

Health Care as a Right:

Establish an improved “Medicare For All” single-payer public health insurance program to provide everyone with quality health care, at huge savings.

Education as a Right:

Abolish student debt to free a generation of Americans from debt servitude. Guarantee tuition-free, world-class public education from pre-school through university. End high stakes testing and public school privatization.

A Just Economy:

Set a $15/hour federal minimum wage. Break up “too-big-to-fail” banks and democratize the Federal Reserve. Reject gentrification as a model of economic development. Support development of worker and community cooperatives and small businesses. Make Wall Street, big corporations, and the rich pay their fair share of taxes. Create democratically run public banks and utilities. Replace corporate trade agreements with fair trade agreements.

Protect Mother Earth:

Lead on a global treaty to halt climate change. End destructive energy extraction: fracking, tar sands, offshore drilling, oil trains, mountaintop removal, and uranium mines. Protect our public lands, water supplies, biological diversity, parks, and pollinators. Label GMOs, and put a moratorium on GMOs and pesticides until they are proven safe. Protect the rights of future generations.

Freedom and Equality:

End police brutality, mass incarceration and institutional racism within our justice system. Expand women’s rights, protect LGBT people from discrimination, defend indigenous rights and lands, and create a welcoming path to citizenship for immigrants. Protect the free Internet, replace drug prohibition with harm reduction, and legalize marijuana/hemp.

Justice for All:

Restore our Constitutional rights, terminate unconstitutional surveillance and unwarranted spying, end persecution of government and media whistleblowers, close Guantanamo, abolish secret kill lists, and repeal indefinite detention without charge or trial.

Peace and Human Rights:

Establish a foreign policy based on diplomacy, international law, and human rights. End the wars and drone attacks, cut military spending by at least 50% and close the 700+ foreign military bases that are turning our republic into a bankrupt empire. Stop U.S. support and arms sales to human rights abusers, and lead on global nuclear disarmament.

Empower the People:

Abolish corporate personhood. Protect voters’ rights by establishing a constitutional right to vote.  Enact electoral reforms that break the big money stranglehold and create truly representative democracy: public campaign financing, ranked-choice voting, proportional representation, and open debates.

It is time we did the right thing: Here are more resources for change:

Help get Dr. Stein on more ballots!

“For my campaign to succeed, it’s critically important that we get on the ballot across the country so we can give America a real choice in November.”

Dr. Jill Stein and Labor Unions can Win!

Dr. Jill Stein is the right choice

“The minute we stand up, we are unstoppable. It’s time to forget the lesser evil and fight for the greater good. The clock is ticking. It’s in our hands.” ~Dr. Jill Stein

Stein will shut down corporate wars!

“Just being slightly less worse than the worst possible scenario is not acceptable. We have to be willing to stand up and throw off those chains of powerlessness. In the words of Alice Walker, ‘the biggest way people give up power is by not knowing they have it.’
We have it.”

Dr. Jill Stein offers better choices… She sees Snowden as a hero.

in the world we deserve, I would welcome Edward Snowden home a hero, and release Chelsea Manning, Jeffrey Sterling, Julian Assange and other courageous truth tellers with praise and reparations. Their actions are essential for preserving our imperiled democracy in the face of secretive, unaccountable corporate government.

Dr. Jill Stein on Israel, Palestine and The Middle East

Jill Stein is the only American Presidential candidate to insist on a Middle-East policy platform grounded in international law, human rights, equality, peace, freedom and justice for everyone. She asks the right questions and provides brilliant answers.

Black Lives Matter to Jill Stein!

“Ignorance and prejudice are the handmaidens of propaganda. Our mission, therefore, is to confront ignorance with knowledge, bigotry with tolerance, and isolation with the outstretched hand of generosity. Racism can, will, and must be defeated.” ― Kofi Annan

The President of the United States: Dr. Jill Stein

Under a Stein presidency, the military economy will transition into a green economy, with decreased dependence on fossil fuels and an end to subsidies for military contractors We will shut down the wars,
reb uild the nation and export knowledge, technology and peace instead of terror, munitions and war.
And it is about time.

If war works for you vote Sanders, but for peace… Shine with Stein!

Dr. Jill Stein can provide the critical transition from exporting munitions, terror and war… to exporting knowledge, technology and medical and agricultural expertise… along with peace in our time.

Let’s allow her to help heal a nation in distress. She has taken an oath to do no harm and can improve our health as a nation and a people. We can endure, survive and prevail over the war-mongers and profiteers who betrayed us.

Stein is endorsed for President in 2012 by Noam Chomsky, a linguist, author and activist, and by Chris Hedges, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and war correspondent, among others. Courage is the cure for fear and Stein is as real as it gets.

Dr. Jill Stein is running for president

We need peace with honor. Shut down the corporate wars and reinvest in peace and productivity instead of bombs. The bottom line is peace or war. The only potential president with an offer on the table which begins with peace is Doctor Jill Stein.
She can lead this nation to healing, recovery and reconstruction.

No fear, no compromise an no surrender.

Difference between Sanders and Stein: Difference between War and Peace

“Don’t let them talk you out of your power. They want you to think that you are powerless, that you have to go to the polls and vote for one of the Wall Street sponsored candidates. But, remember, what that means is not just wasting your vote on more of what’s hurting you, it’s actually using your vote as a weapon against yourself. In fact, you are the most powerful thing out there.”
Jill Stein

Jill Stein Walks the Talk

Stein is endorsed for President by Noam Chomsky, a linguist, author and activist, and by Chris Hedges, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and war correspondent, among others. There are good reasons why the best and brightest support Dr. Stein. She asks the right questions, knows the answers and is willing to risk challenging the war machine. We should have her back.

Bernie Sanders has no answers. He is invested in endless war, regardless of the costs…

“Sanders not only defends military contracts that benefit his constituents in Vermont, he also joined the 100 to 0 vote in the Senate to give unalloyed moral and political support to the state of Israel during its most recent bombing campaign against Gaza.”

Bernie1Sanders’ dodge on Black Lives Matter

Democratic Party presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders has little to offer in the way of solutions to police brutality and racism, writes Ben Taylor.

“Bernie assures us that he’ll “make sure that kids are in schools, and not in jails” which sounds an awful lot like he’s placing the burden of responsibility for police brutality on the individual being victimized–a right-wing talking point. A meaningfully “left” candidate ought to have used this time to talk about the cops themselves, the structural nature of the problem, and how racialized social control operates. It’s as if the real problem for Bernie Sanders was that on April 12, Freddie Gray (aka “Black suspect” in Bernie’s lingo, since he doesn’t mention Freddie Gray’s name once) wasn’t at school or work- not that he was arrested for walking while Black. Somehow Bernie managed to completely avoid talking meaningfully about police brutality, mass incarceration, the war on drugs, militarized policing and a broken judicial system while giving us his “thoughts” on Baltimore. Bernie has no answers for #BlackLivesMatter.”

People still drive around with peace sign stickers next to their Barack Obama bumper stickers, despite the doubling-down on George W. Bush‘s foreign and domestic policies.Democrats have successfully been able to make Republican policies cool. Never forget that Bernie Sanders voted for the Afghanistan war and supported Israel’s slaughter of Gaza in 2014. He can’t support universal health care for Americans and the bombing of hospitals in Gaza at the same time. Having principles is not the same as being a purist – politics is not a game.

Sanders not only defends military contracts that benefit his constituents in Vermont, he also joined the 100 to 0 vote in the Senate to give unalloyed moral gaza1and political support to the state of Israel during its most recent bombing campaign against Gaza.

More on the history of Bernie Sanders and militarism as well as his alliance with the Democratic Party:

Sanders, dogging for Hillary and the Democrats, is not even in the running..

STEPHANOPOULOS: So if you lose in this nomination fight, will you support the Democratic nominee?

SANDERS: Yes. I have in the past.

TOON1Bernie Bashes Banks but Leans Right on War, Israel and Guns : Jill Stein has better ideas

But Jill Stein Walks the Talk on Peace, Justice & Freedom
by Ending Wars of Choice, Securing the Peace, and Endorsing Responsible Gun Ownership

The Difference between Sanders and Stein is the Difference between War and Peace

“Don’t let them talk you out of your power. They want you to think that you are powerless, that you have to go to the polls and vote for one of the Wall Street sponsored candidates.

US Presidential Election 2016: Let’s put the cards on the table.

1.  We have 17 months and that’s it. Hillary has promised to attack Iran. Iran is backed by Russia and China, both armed with nuclear weapons

The truth about Bernie Sandersbernie

The American political left has elevated Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders to near godlike status.  …  The more often Sanders is accused of being a socialist by his political enemies on the Right, the more convinced the Left becomes that he surely walks on water.

Although Sanders may have once been a socialist back in the 80s when he was Mayor of Burlington, he is not a socialist today.  Rather he is a technofascist disguised as a liberal, who backs all of Obama’s nasty wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Pakistan, Somalia, and Yemen.  He “supports the troops” by favoring all military spending bills. He stands behind all military contractors who bring jobs to Vermont. That’s his job as a senator, but it does not make him a socialist. (He is running as a Democrat and endorsing the Bush-Obama agenda abroad.)

TOON2The self-proclaimed socialist Bernie Sanders has done little better. As left-wing Vermont writer Ron Jacobs noted, Senator Sanders has voted for “grants and loans to Israel, even after Israel bombed Gaza, attacked the Mavi Marmara and supported illegal settlements in the West Bank.” When asked by reporters for his view of the current war on Gaza, Sanders evaded the question, stating, “That’s not where my mind is right now.” https://thewordsmithcollection.wordpress.com/2015/02/15/bernie-sanders-many-not-be-as-progressive-as-you-think/

stein-caucus-articleInlineDr. Jill Stein is the ticket.

She has a plan for shutting down dozens of wars of choice, including the ongoing brutality in Gaza and the West Bank. It is way past time we got past the last five angry and militant men, and put a capable, professional woman (and distinguished physician) in the White House.

Dr. Jill Stein can provide the critical transition from exporting munitions, terror and war… to exporting knowledge, technology and medical and agricultural expertise… along with peace in our time.

Let’s allow her to help heal a nation in distress.

Stein was endorsed for President in 2012 by Noam Chomsky, a linguist, author and activist, and by Chris Hedges, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and war correspondent, among others. She is as real as it gets.”
